THE NEW WAR: HACKING

Our vulnerable society relies on technology, what it means to you and America.

President Trump is trying to Make America Great Again. You would think everyone would want it to happen — but sadly, there are people and countries who want America to fail. These bad actors are the kind of losers who defaced Trump’s golf course over the weekend. Spray painted messages were left on the lawn, club house, and entry gates. But as ugly as it looked, it wasn’t too horrible in the sense that although removing graffiti is always a nag for the victim, it can be done without losing a lot of money in the process. Hacking, however, is a crime that goes to an entirely different level.

Elon Musk
The leader of Trump’s new division of government accountability called DOGE, is also the visionary behind Tesla, SpaceX, and X. Musk, a.k.a. the richest man in the world and a friend to Trump, is under siege for his attempts to Make America Great Again.

From the streets outside Tesla dealerships to the digital battlegrounds of cyberspace, Musk is facing a multi-front war that threatens not only his companies but also the very principles of innovation and free speech he champions. As a conservative commentator who has long warned about the dangers of unchecked power and shadowy influences, I’m here to lay out the facts, connect the dots, and shine a light on the forces trying to bring down Musk, Trump, MAGA, America, and you.

The Protests: Chaos at Tesla Dealerships
Across the United States and Europe, Tesla dealerships, showrooms, and charging stations have become ground zero for a wave of protests and vandalism that are anything but spontaneous. These aren’t your run-of-the-mill environmentalist gripes about electric vehicles—oh no, these are targeted, vicious, and often violent demonstrations aimed squarely at Musk himself.

In New York City, over 350 protesters descended on a Tesla showroom in Manhattan as part of the so-called “Tesla Takedown” protests. Chanting “Elon Musk has got to go” and “We need clean air, not another billionaire,” they occupied the showroom, leading to six arrests—five for disorderly conduct and one for resisting arrest and obstructing government administration. In Portland, Oregon, a similar scene unfolded, with gunfire reported at a Tesla dealership, shattering windows and damaging cars. In Massachusetts, charging stations were set ablaze, engulfed in flames and thick black smoke. And in France, authorities are investigating a suspected arson attack that destroyed twelve Tesla vehicles at a dealership in Toulouse.

Then there’s the case of the freak show Lucy Grace Nelson — who was born as Justin Thomas Nelson. Whatever you want to call him or her, this is the 42-year-old who was charged in Colorado after he allegedly left explosives and threatening messages at a Tesla dealership. And then in Boston, another man was arrested for allegedly defacing Tesla vehicles with Musk decals, claiming it was “free speech”—a defense Musk himself shot down, stating, “Damaging the property of others, aka vandalism, is not free speech!” These incidents are not isolated; they are part of a coordinated campaign that has seen over a dozen violent or destructive acts against Tesla facilities since Trump’s inauguration, according to reports.

Musk has pointed the finger at a familiar name: George Soros. On X, his social media platform, Musk claimed that an internal investigation revealed five ActBlue-funded groups—Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project, and Democratic Socialists of America—are behind the protests, with funding from Soros, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and other Democratic mega-donors. While concrete evidence linking Soros directly to these specific protests remains elusive, the billionaire philanthropist’s history of funding progressive causes through his Open Society Foundations makes Musk’s accusations plausible. Soros has long been a boogeyman for conservatives, and whether or not he’s directly involved, the optics of these protests align with the kind of activist networks he’s known to support. But let’s not kid ourselves—this isn’t just about Soros. This is about a broader ideological war against Musk’s alignment with Trump’s administration and his push for government efficiency through DOGE.

The Cyberattack on X: A Digital Siege
Now, let’s shift to the digital front, where Musk’s platform X faced what he described as a “massive cyberattack” today (March 10). This wasn’t just a minor glitch or a random hack—it was a coordinated assault that temporarily disrupted the platform, impacting its ability to host live streams, posts, and user interactions. The attack, which Musk confirmed was ongoing, was severe enough to knock X offline for several hours, with full restoration expected to take an entire day. Users reported inability to access the platform, post content, or engage in real-time discussions, effectively silencing one of the last bastions of free speech in the digital age.

Musk didn’t mince words, stating, “We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved.” This isn’t hyperbole. The scale of the attack, which involved a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) strategy, suggests a level of sophistication and resources that go beyond your average basement-dwelling hacker. But why would Musk suggest a nation-state’s involvement? Simple: the stakes are high. X has become a thorn in the side of authoritarian regimes and powerful interest groups who thrive on controlling narratives. Musk’s refusal to censor content, his support for Trump, and his pushback against globalist agendas have made him a target for those who see his platform as a threat to their power.

Cyberattacks: A Daily Reality
Musk’s claim that X is attacked daily isn’t an exaggeration—it’s a fact of life in the digital age. The Pentagon, for instance, faces an estimated 100 million cyberattacks annually, ranging from simple probes to sophisticated attempts to steal classified data. Banks, hospitals, and even local governments are hit with ransomware, phishing, and DDoS attacks on a regular basis. These attacks penetrate systems by exploiting vulnerabilities—think of it like a thief trying every window and door on a house until they find one that’s unlocked. Hackers use stolen credentials, trick employees into clicking malicious links, or overwhelm servers with fake traffic to crash them, as was the case with X.

For non-techies, imagine a cyberattack like a flash mob at a store. If enough people flood in, demanding service, the staff can’t keep up, and legitimate customers are locked out. That’s a DDoS attack in a nutshell. More insidious attacks, like those involving malware, are like planting a spy inside the store to steal secrets or sabotage operations. The X attack, for example, reportedly involved botnets—networks of compromised devices—coordinated to flood the platform’s servers, rendering it unusable.

Defending Against the Invisible Enemy
Can we defend against these attacks? Yes, but it’s a cat-and-mouse game. Companies like X and government agencies invest billions in cybersecurity—firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and teams of experts working around the clock to patch vulnerabilities and monitor threats. But no system is foolproof. The best defense is often proactive: training employees to spot phishing attempts, using multi-factor authentication, and keeping software updated. For platforms like X, mitigating DDoS attacks involves rerouting traffic, filtering out malicious requests, and scaling server capacity. But when a nation-state or large criminal network is involved, the sheer volume of resources they can deploy makes defense a Herculean task.

Banking: The Achilles’ Heel
Banks are especially vulnerable, and the consequences can be devastating for ordinary people like you. In 2023, a major U.S. bank lost $60 million to a sophisticated hack that exploited a flaw in its payment processing system, with customers left scrambling to recover stolen funds. In 2021, a ransomware attack on a Florida bank locked customers out of their accounts for days, with some losing access to their life savings. These incidents highlight how cyberattacks can ripple through the economy, hitting the most vulnerable hardest.

The Culprits: Who’s Behind It?
So, who’s behind the attacks on X and the broader cyberwar? Musk’s suggestion of a “country” points to likely suspects like China and Russia, both of which have advanced cyberwarfare capabilities and a vested interest in destabilizing Western institutions. China’s state-sponsored hackers, such as the APT41 group, have been linked to attacks on tech companies and government agencies, often to steal intellectual property or disrupt operations. Russia’s GRU and affiliated groups, like Fancy Bear, are notorious for targeting political and media entities to sow discord, as seen in the 2016 U.S. election interference.

But can we ever truly know? Tracing a hack is like following a trail of breadcrumbs through a forest—hackers use proxies, VPNs, and compromised devices in multiple countries to mask their origins. Cybersecurity experts can sometimes attribute attacks to specific groups based on tactics, malware signatures, or even linguistic clues in the code, but definitive proof is rare, especially when nation-states are involved. They have the resources to cover their tracks, leaving us to speculate based on motive and capability.

The Bigger Picture
The war on Elon Musk—whether through protests, vandalism, or cyberattacks—isn’t just about one man. It’s about what he represents: a challenge to the entrenched powers that seek to control our economy, our government, and our discourse. The Soros-funded activist networks, if Musk’s claims hold water, are just one piece of a larger puzzle. The real question is whether we, as a society, will stand up to these shadowy forces or let them tear down those who dare to innovate and speak freely.

What will make cyberattacks even harder to stop is the advent of A.I. Below is an ad for Superhuman A.I. Today is the last day we are running the ad.
