Details Revealed: Trump's New Travel Ban
The truth about the terrorists who want us off the map.

SPECIAL DML REPORT…
The 47 Report is published every morning, seven days per week, and the DML Report is published only on weekdays at 5pmET. However, there was an article published by The NY TIMES on Friday which I feel obligated to write about, especially when considering how the liberal rag makes Trump out to be a monster for wanting to protect you from terrorists. With this in mind, I offer a special DML REPORT for Saturday, March 15.

We have terrorists inside our walls.
THE TERRORISTS ARE ALREADY HERE
The Travel Ban Is a National Security Must—But Is It Too Late?
As a person who ran from the Twin Towers on 9/11, and as a guy who has spent the past twenty years on TV, radio, film, and social media trying to ring the warning bells concerning our open borders and lax vetting processes, I must delve into The New York Times bombshell report on March 14. The liberal rag revealed that White House insiders told them of a new travel ban plan, and of course the Democrats hate it. I find it fascinating, and questionable at the same time.

THE LISTS
Reportedly, the Trump administration has a plan to slam the door on travelers from up to 43 countries. The plan places the 43 countries into a series of color-coded lists (shown above). The “red” list consists of 11 nations—Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen—each faces a total visa blackout.
This isn’t just a revival of Trump’s first-term travel ban; it’s a broader, tougher crackdown on countries with vetting so abysmal they’re literally handing out passports to terrorists. As someone who’s been sounding the alarm on national security for years, I say this ban is essential—but it’s also a day late and a dollar short because of Joe Biden. The past four years of open borders and lax legal immigration have already let the enemy through the gates.
A LIST OF EVIL DOERS
First, the facts. The “red” list, as outlined in the Times, targets countries where vetting is either nonexistent or controlled by regimes hostile to the U.S. In short, they are terrorist breeding grounds.
Start with Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism since 1984. Its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) funds and trains Hezbollah, which bombed the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983, killing 241 Americans. In 2011, the FBI busted an IRGC plot to blow up the Saudi ambassador in Washington, D.C., with a car bomb—a strike that could’ve killed dozens of Americans on our own soil. Iran’s vetting? A farce, run by a regime that calls us the “Great Satan.” Letting their nationals in unchecked is like handing a loaded gun to a madman.
Syria’s next, a failed state where ISIS built its caliphate. Mohammad Emwazi, aka “Jihadi John,” beheaded American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff on video, all while operating out of Syria’s lawless deserts. The 2015 San Bernardino attack, which killed 14, was carried out by Tashfeen Malik, a Pakistani national inspired by ISIS, who entered the U.S. on a K-1 visa. Syria’s government can’t control its own territory, let alone vet its citizens. Without a ban, we’re rolling the dice on the next Emwazi slipping through.
Yemen is a terrorist powder keg. Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), based there, trained Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the “Underwear Bomber,” who nearly blew up a Detroit-bound plane on Christmas Day 2009 with explosives sewn into his clothing. AQAP’s Anwar al-Awlaki inspired the 2009 Fort Hood shooting by Nidal Hasan, which killed 13 Americans. Yemen’s government is split between Houthi rebels and a weak regime, with no vetting system worth a damn. A ban is the only way to stop AQAP operatives from boarding our flights.
Somalia’s another nightmare. Al-Shabaab, an Al-Qaeda affiliate, has killed hundreds, including Americans, in attacks like the 2013 Westgate Mall siege in Kenya, which left 67 dead. In 2016, Dahir Adan, a Somali refugee legally admitted to the U.S., stabbed 10 people in a Minnesota mall, inspired by ISIS. Somalia’s government barely controls Mogadishu, and its vetting is a myth. Without a ban, we’re inviting more Adans to our shores.
Libya’s a terrorist free-for-all since Gaddafi’s fall. The 2012 Benghazi attack, orchestrated by Ansar al-Sharia, killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Libya’s government is a patchwork of rival factions, with no centralized vetting. ISIS and Al-Qaeda have set up shop, training fighters who could easily target the U.S. without restrictions.
Afghanistan, newly added to the list, is a glaring example of why the ban is needed. After the 2021 U.S. withdrawal, the Taliban turned the country into a terrorist Disneyland. Al-Qaeda’s Ayman al-Zawahiri was killed in Kabul in 2022, proving the group’s leadership still operates there. The Taliban’s Haqqani Network, responsible for the 2011 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, is now part of the government. Afghan vetting is a sick joke—passports are sold on the black market, and the Taliban has no interest in stopping terrorists from reaching our shores.
Sudan’s history is just as dark. It harbored Osama bin Laden from 1991 to 1996, during which Al-Qaeda planned the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224, including 12 Americans. While Sudan’s government has shifted, terrorist groups like Hamas still operate there, and vetting remains unreliable.
Venezuela, also on the “red” list, is a terrorist gateway. Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has established cells in the country, exploiting the chaos under Maduro’s regime. In 2023, Border Patrol arrested a Venezuelan illegal immigrant at the southern border who was on the FBI’s terrorist watchlist, linked to Hezbollah. Venezuela’s government has emptied its prisons, sending criminals and potential terrorists north. A ban is the least we can do to stem the tide.
Cuba and Northobody Korea, while not traditional terrorist hubs, are hostile regimes with no interest in cooperating on vetting. Cuba’s intelligence services have a history of supporting leftist insurgencies in Latin America, and North Korea’s regime is a black box—its citizens are brainwashed operatives of a state that threatens nuclear war. Bhutan’s inclusion is less clear, but its proximity to China and lack of diplomatic ties with the U.S. suggest vetting deficiencies that could be exploited.
I COMMEND TRUMP, BUT…
I give thanks to the president, we need bans of this kind. The ban’s necessity is undeniable when you look at what terrorists from these regions are capable of. The 9/11 hijackers, mostly Saudis, exploited legal visa processes to enter the U.S. The Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, were ethnic Chechens who entered legally—one as a refugee, the other on a tourist visa. Legal immigration isn’t inherently safe; it’s only as good as the vetting behind it. The “red” list countries have no vetting worth trusting, making the ban a critical firewall.
But here’s the brutal truth: the ban is too late. Over the past four years, the southern border has been a terrorist superhighway. Border Patrol encountered over 7.5 million illegal aliens from 2021 to 2024, including 425 individuals on the terrorist watchlist. In 2023 alone, 169 known or suspected terrorists were apprehended at the border, a record high. These aren’t hypotheticals—they’re people flagged by intelligence as threats. And those are just the ones we caught. In 2024, CNN reported that an ISIS-linked smuggler helped 400 Uzbeks cross the southern border, with at least 50 unaccounted for. How many more are already here, plotting the next attack?
Legal immigration has been just as porous. The Biden administration expanded refugee admissions, resettling over 25,000 Afghans after the 2021 withdrawal, many with minimal vetting due to the chaos of the evacuation. A 2022 DHS report revealed that at least two Al-Qaeda affiliates slipped through this process, one of whom was released into the U.S. before being caught. The K-1 visa program, exploited by Tashfeen Malik, remains a vulnerability, with fraud and lax oversight still rampant. The Diversity Visa Lottery, which admits 50,000 people annually from countries with low U.S. immigration rates, includes nations like Sudan and Somalia. It’s a terrorist’s lottery ticket.
The travel ban is a start, but it’s not enough. The first-term ban, upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018, cut refugee admissions from banned countries by 85% and slashed visas from those nations by over 70%. It worked—until Biden dismantled it. Reviving and expanding it is a no-brainer, but we’re kidding ourselves if we think it’s a silver bullet. The Obama presidency was just as bad as Biden’s. We have let so many bad people enter our country, I would need an entire book to inform you of the risks. Short story, terrorists are already here, thanks to Democrats and their negligence. Look at the 2017 New York City truck attack by Sayfullo Saipov, an Uzbek immigrant who killed eight, inspired by ISIS. That’s what’s waiting in the shadows.
MY PLAN
Did you notice how often I referenced 9/11 in my recent DML Report? Plenty. Never forget: the majority of the 9/11 terrorists—15 out of 19—came from Saudi Arabia. So why isn’t Saudi Arabia on the “red” list of the Trump administration’s proposed travel ban? Heck, they’re not even mentioned in the plan! How can the greatest act of terror on American soil be ignored when crafting a policy to keep us safe? I’ll tell you why—and I’m not giving Trump a pass here—it’s all about money. The Saudis pour billions into the U.S., and it’s a smokescreen to hide their real intent. For Trump, or anyone in his administration, to overlook this is inexcusable.
If I were president, I’d implement a travel ban, but mine would include Saudi Arabia—no exceptions. Like Trump, I’d fast-track mass deportations and do everything in my power to build a border wall. But I’d go further. I’d end all student visas (see my op-ed on that topic), halt all legal immigration until our vetting systems are overhauled, and issue an executive order mandating e-Verify nationwide. Most critically, I’d create a new task force dedicated to hunting down terrorists already in this country. It can be done. Start by reassigning most IRS agents to ICE—turn tax collectors into terrorist hunters. If we can shut down the entire country over a fake plandemic, we can damn well rid ourselves of the goat farmers turned terrorists.
Look, I end on this: I love that Trump puts Americans first, but he has to go deeper. The “orange” list—Belarus, Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan—shows the problem is even bigger, with visas sharply restricted for countries with serious vetting issues. Pakistan, home to Lashkar-e-Taiba, which killed 166 in the 2008 Mumbai attacks, including six Americans, is a glaring example of why we can’t stop at the “red” list. The facts don’t lie—our enemies don’t sleep. The travel ban is a tourniquet on a gaping wound, but the cancer has already spread. It’s time to wake up, or the next 9/11 won’t be a question of if, but when.
