RIP UP THE DEAL MR. PRESIDENT — Signed, DML
CAN the USA GET OUT OF NATO, AND HOW IT WORKS…
Today I’m diving into the nitty-gritty of NATO—the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. This alliance, born in 1949, is a a pact between 32 nations to watch each other’s backs. The cornerstone? Article 5: an attack on one is an attack on all. Each nation’s supposed to chip in troops, resources, and cash to keep the machine humming—specifically, a guideline set in 2014 says 2% of a partnering nation’s GDP should go to defense. That’s the deal, plain and simple: collective defense, mutual commitment, and a promise to pull your weight. It’s not just about warm fuzzies; it’s a hard-nosed agreement to deter threats, originally the Soviet Union, now Russia and beyond. But here’s the kicker—are all these countries holding up their end of the bargain? Spoiler: not even close.
Let’s break it down.
As of 2024, NATO’s got 32 members, and that 2% GDP target? It’s more like a suggestion than a rule, and plenty of nations treat it that way. Last year, only 11 hit the mark—countries like the U.S., Poland, and the UK. That leaves 21 freeloaders. Take Germany, the big economic powerhouse—sitting at 1.57% in 2023, promising to hit 2% “soon.” Italy’s at 1.46%, Canada’s a measly 1.38%, and Spain’s loafing at 1.28%. These aren’t small players; they’re core members leaning on the alliance without footing the bill. Meanwhile, the U.S. is over here at 3.38%, way above the line. It’s like a group dinner where most folks “forget” their wallets, and Uncle Sam’s stuck with the tab—every single time.
So how much slack is the U.S. picking up? Buckle up, because the numbers don’t lie. In 2023, total NATO defense spending was about $1.3 trillion. The U.S. coughed up $860 billion of that—over 66% of the pot. The other 31 nations combined? Just $440 billion. We’ve got 100,000 troops stationed in Europe, missile defense systems galore, and a nuclear umbrella that keeps everyone cozy. Europe and Canada pledged to add $400 billion by 2024, but even if they pull it off, it barely dents the gap. Trump’s been screaming about this for years, and he’s not wrong—the U.S. is the muscle and the wallet, while too many allies are skating by, building welfare states on our dime. It’s not just unfair; it’s unsustainable.
Now, what if Trump wins in 2024 and says, “Enough’s enough—we’re out”? Getting out of NATO ain’t a light switch flick. The treaty—Article 13—says any nation can exit after a year’s notice, but Congress threw a wrench in it with the 2020 NDAA, requiring a two-thirds Senate vote or an act of Congress. Trump could try to bulldoze it legally—his team might argue it’s his executive call—but it’d spark a courtroom brawl. He could also just gut it from the inside: pull troops, slash funding, ignore Article 5. Worldwide, it’s a mixed bag. Bad news? Russia’s licking its chops—Putin could roll into the Baltics or Ukraine unchecked. NATO might crumble without U.S. heft, leaving Europe scrambling. Good news? Europe might finally step up, and aggressors like China could think twice without a clear U.S. target. For the U.S., upsides are real: billions saved, focus on homefront priorities like border security, and a leaner foreign policy.
Here’s the bottom line…
NATO is no longer the noble idea it once was — collective strength, shared values, etc. Today, it’s morphed into a welfare program for too many members. The U.S. has carried the load for decades, and Trump’s exit talk isn’t just bluster; it’s a wake-up call. If he pulls it off, the world could get dicey—more Russian swagger, a shaky Europe—but it might force our allies to grow a spine. For America, it’s a chance to stop playing global sugar daddy and put our own house first. Love it or hate it, that’s the NATO deal today, laid bare. My take, let’s get the hell out of it once and for all. As I explain in my podcast today why we do not need to be in NATO, why we should get out, and why we should exit the global economy. Here is the link, start at 41:30 mark.

DML CBD TESTIMONIAL
I have a relative, he was a cop for thirty years. He could never sleep. It was like this for decades. He tried everything but nothing worked. He retired. Sleep was still an issue. He then came down with two cancers. Sleep was essential, but he couldn’t get a single night of slumber. He asked me for a bottle of DML CBD POWER+ knowing it makes me sleep like a baby. I gave him a bottle, and for the first time in decades he slept through the night.
The great news, on a total side note, not only did he sleep great for the first time in his adult life, but God saw to it that he eventually recovered from both cancers. He then came down with a third cancer, and recovered from that too.

THE SOCIAL MEDIA POST of the DAY…
Ahead of Trump’s big speech tonight, where he will address the nation at 9pmET, the Democrats put out a series of videos that are all the same, word for word, and they make complete fools of themselves.
Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and Cory Booker posted identical videos—word for word—right before Trump’s speech.
